Do what you love, love what you do!
Confucius suggested that ' you never have to work a day in your life if you love your job'.
For me, this is pretty much true.
Sure there might be certain little aspects of my job at the EcoDairy I don’t love, like the smell of my hair after I tour the barn, wiping the fingerprints off the glass doors, dealing with angry guests...but overall going to work is not a dreaded chore.
One of the things that makes my job so great is the people I get to work with. They're all different but they're all pretty great.
So great that the other night we decided to hang out together for a little Christmas celebration... and what a blast we had.
We started the night at 4Cats Art Studio for a little creative fun. Some of us were excited to create while others were dreading having to put paint to canvas but all in all I think we did a great job.
The energetic artist in her homemade 'ugly, not ugly' sweater was in her glory, the party girl in her fancy red shoes got in touch with her inner artist without spilling paint, the reluctant artist from the prairies really did have fun and managed to produce a work of art, the Italian boy enjoyed a break from his studies and made a gift for grandma (how sweet is that), the Vancouver hipster made a work of art that was 'out of this world' worthy to be framed, and the snowboard bunny with her snowman earrings made it down from the mountain to join in the fun and make her very own masterpiece.
After all that art and creativity we worked up an appetite and headed on over to Bow & Stern for dinner and drinks. The food was amazing but the company was even better (...although we were sad to be missing a few from our team).
What a fun night.
What a great team.
