EcoDairy Visits the Abbotsford Tulip Festival!
We finally had a chance to visit the Abbotsford Tulip Festival, and it was the breath of fresh air that we needed. April proved to be a pretty wet and gray month, causing the beautiful tulips to bloom a little later than expected but it was worth the wait.
When we arrived we could tell there was a battle in the sky, the rain was sprinkling but the sun was trying hard to burn through the clouds. We came prepared with umbrellas and boots – thank goodness because it was a muddy adventure. People were slipping and sliding and walking around with their shoes wrapped in little blue bootie covers. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect there wasn’t a grumpy face in sight… It was SO refreshing to be surrounded by so many perfect pops of dreamy colour.
We smelled the flowers, checked out the different varieties, watched as people joined in a water pump race, picked our own bunch of flowers from the U-Pick area at $1.00/stem and purchased some additional bunches to take home.
If you’re a local you can get into the festival for as low as $2 per person on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 3pm! It’s recommended that you purchase your tickets online before ESPECIALLY if you’re planning on visiting during the busy weekend.
The BLOOM Abby Tulip Festival is on until May 14, make some time to visit this highly anticipated, beautiful oasis before it’s gone until next year!
