Friday November 11th is Remembrance Day
Yeah, it is a day off…a day of ‘peace’ from the regular schedule but it is so much more than that. It is an opportunity to show respect and gratitude to those who helped us achieve the peace we enjoy in this country.
Remembrance Day is:
…an opportunity to remember the contributions and sacrifices of the men and women who have served Canada in times of war, military conflict and peace—especially those who did not return. By remembering all who have served, we recognize their willingly-endured hardships and fears, taken upon themselves so that we could live in peace. http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/history/a-day-of-remembrance/why
So take a moment at 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to remember.
