It’s official…fall has arrived.
But the end of summer does not mean the end of fun things to do in the Fraser Valley.
Here are just a few ideas for fun fall adventures so we can all enjoy a Farm Fresh Fall.
Fall on the Farm
There are so many great farms to visit in the local countryside. The Apple Barn, Willowview Farm, Maan Farms, and Bakerview EcoDairy, are all local destinations that offer unique farm experiences. Put your feet in a pair of gum boots and set out for adventure, whether it’s a wagon ride through the orchard, picking pumpkins in the patch, being haunted in a spooky corn maze, sipping fresh apple cider, visiting a petting zoo, running around on a farm or meeting cows face to face these farms have something for everyone that will bring out the farmer in you.
And can you believe that the original Chilliwack Corn Maze will be celebrating their 20th year this year?!? Be sure to visit and help them celebrate. Congratulations Chilliwack Corn Maze, time flies when you are having fun.
Fall at the Market
On Thursday nights the Railway district hosts the Valley Food and Farm Collective (find them on social media) which includes lots of local farmers, artisans, craftsmen, businesses and musicians together for a community building evening. The Abbotsford Farm and Country Market happens each Saturday in Historic Downtown Abbotsford and the BC Farmers Market.
Fall Festivals & Festivities
There are a few fun fall festivals happening in the Fraser Valley. You don’t want to miss BCHopFest on September 29th featuring over 40 brewers and 6 food vendors in Sumas Praire. Then on Saturday October 6th the Valley Food & Farm Collective is hosting Oktoberfest with a family friendly market by day and beer garden in the evening.
These are just a few ideas but for more ideas on what is happening around town visit Abbotsford Tourism website and click on their events calendar.
So get out there and enjoy a Farm Fresh Fall!
