January on the Farm and Cozy Cows
It’s January on the farm and though it’s cold outside the cows are happy indoors enjoying their temperature controlled barn, their massage brush, and they’re dining on a high quality buffet. We know that if a cow is unhappy with their environment they won’t make very good milk, so it’s in our farmers’ best interest to make sure that winters, and every season here at EcoDairy are cushy-comfortable.
Next time you visit you might need a winter jacket, but did you know that cows grow thicker hair in the winter to stay warm? It’s like they have built-in coats that they shed off each spring when they don’t need them anymore! We also have protective curtains in our barn openings that shut out cold winds, rain and snow from coming inside!
We’ve brought the pasture indoors here, meaning even in the middle of winter our cows enjoy a comfortable place to sleep, soft floors to walk on (no cement floors here), access to delicious food, fresh air and more!
Come on by for a tour, Tuesdays – Saturdays 10:00am – 4:00pm, Sundays 11:00am – 4:00pm, or drop the kids off for a Pro D Camp! (Next available camp is Friday January 25) Learn about how we’re being kind to our cows and the planet with innovative technology. We can’t wait to show you around!
