JUNE ON THE FARM
And just like that it’s June! Are you ready for summer?
June has arrived and we have lots going on here at the farm and don’t want you to miss out.
Here are 5 things happening on the farm in June.
ICE CREAM IS OPEN ON THE WEEKENDS
We are so excited to have our Ice Cream stand open on the weekends and can’t wait until July 2nd when it will be open daily from 12-6. Grab your cone and head out back to meander the picnic grounds.
ANIMALS ARE OUT AND ABOUT
As the weather warms up we like to give our animals a change of scenery. Angel and Darla (the miniature horse and donkey) are out grazing in the back paddock along with Woolamina, Baarbara and their lambs. You’ll notice the beef cattle grazing in their field as well. The FreeBird Hens will soon have access to the outdoors but once they do, all that tall grass will be scratched away in no time.
FIELD PREP IS UNDERWAY
The farmers are busy running their tractors across the land as they prep, plow and plant the fields, and the kids are busy pretending to do the same on their own Kubota tractor stationed the park, all thanks to our friends from Avenue Machinery across the street! We are excited to be part of Sunflower Trail this year (look for link and/or tag tourism Abbotsford) We have planted a variety of sunflower seeds and now just need to wait for them to grow into all their golden glory.
SUMMER CAMP SIGN UPS
Your kids can get their farm hand experience (and get out of your hair :P) at EcoDairy Summer Camp.
We have a few weeks of kids camps planned but you need sign up soon before spaces fill up.
BARN TOURS ARE ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA
The EcoDairy tours happen year round, throughout all seasons, rain or shine. The cows in the barn are always eager to see visitors and the tour guides are always eager to show you around the farm.
Happy June! We hope to hear from you soon.
