Summer Camp Re-cap
Wow!! Time really flies when you’re having fun! It’s been another amazing season of summer camps. This time around we’ve put a lot more focus on farming in the summer and the foundation of agriculture.
(Here’s a photo of our week #2 group getting a close-up look of the robot milker in the farmer-only zone!)
We love getting our hands in the dirt, feeding the farm animals, learning about modern farming through tours, games and crafts and running wild in the back field with a hand full of fresh picked blueberries and blackberries.
There’s something SO special about the summer season here at EcoDairy. There’s more laughter, we get to have water fights and eat ice-cream, and we spend our days with bright-eyed kiddos who are eager to learn and explore.
What we love most is getting to spend time with these awesome kids, and giving them the opportunity to experience life on the farm for a week. We have fun listening to their stories and watching them form new friendships throughout the week. We also love the random comments from them that can happen at ANY given time… For instance when one staff was told she smelled like the Fraser Valley Public Library or that her shoes looked like balloons. Or when one camper wanted to eat her berries “the old fashioned way” Hmmm..?
Now that summer camps have come to a close, we’re looking forward to Pro-D Day Camps for the rest of the year! Each pro-D camp will have a theme and opportunities to explore new and unique seasonal farm features. You can contact us at for more info on upcoming ProD camps for 2017/2018!
Until next time friends!
