Things to do with Mom on Mothers Day

Mother’s Day is fast approaching and we are here to help you plan the perfect Mother’s Day outing with mom.

Every mom is different.  What your own mom might appreciate may be different than what your mother in law might enjoy and  what you prefer or what you want may be different than what your kids are planning.

So, we have some options for you and we like to think that there is something for everyone.

Looking to impress a future or current mother in law or mother figure…we’ve got you covered.  On Saturday May 12th from 10:00am – 3:00pm head over to Mt.Lehman Sojourn: Making Memories.  There is a little bit of everything in this day trip opportunity. The Mount Lehman countryside in and of itself is a beautiful place to explore and the perfect country drive. While there visit Tuscan Farm Gardens for a lavender latte and other treats, then head over to Tangelbank.

for gardening ideas, a light lunch and stunning home and garden décor and be sure to take the edge off with a little award winning wine from Singeltree winery.

I’m impressed already…not to mention, there will be professional photographers at all the stops to capture the moment for you in the most stunning of settings.

Who’s kidding who, she’s your mom but she is so stylish, she even dresses better than you.  Her hobby is shopping, so why not take her shopping at HighStreet.  In fact, they are even hosting a Pop-Up shop with some terrific brands and merchandise.  After shopping all the stores at this open air mall you can stay and enjoy a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants and end the night with a good movie.

If mom is the artsy-fartsy type there is a water media art show happening at the Clearbrook Library which happens to be right next door to the Reach which always has something going on.  Also later this month there is the Art & Wine walk which is always a hit and tends to sell out fast.

Who doesn’t like a trip to the local farmers market which opens for the season this month.  The Abbotsford Farm & Country Market is held in historic downtown Abbotsford which means before or after the market you can head over to one of the local coffee or tea shops (could include links) or grab lunch at one of the local eateries and stroll through some of the shops like Montrose & George, Spruce Collective, Hemmingways Books, Cobblestone Kitchen .

Perhaps your Mom is a little more adventurous.  We have an idea for that kind of mom too, head on over to Ridgedale Rod and Gun Club.  They are hosting a ladies day which is sure to be on target (teehee) The adventure doesn’t need to end there.  Take her up the Abby Grind if she or you can handle it or even walk along the scenic McKay Creek Trail along the canal.

For a blooming good time you must check out BLOOM Abbotsfords Tulip Festival before it’s over, and even travel the Fraser Valley Tulip Trail.

The Tulips are fabulous to behold but that’s not the only great thing about Abbotsfords Tulip Festival.  Many locations around town are friends of the festival and when you visit them you can realize some pretty terrific deals.  Check it out, EcoDairy and Bloom are ‘friends’ Visit EcoDairy and realize why TULIPS…I mean TWO-LIPS are better than one.  After touring the tulips and the barn pick up a sandwich at Natures Pickins Market and enjoy a picnic in the back park.

So there you have it…a few ideas for a few different types of Moms.

Happy Mothers Day!
